Hidden Rooms

I have so many hidden rooms inside my house that I forgot what rooms they are. I bring this to attentio as I have neglected to maintain a few of the rooms entirely. I see a door at the other end of the hallway, dilapidated and worn. As I approach it, I have no clue what to expect on the other side. I forgot what the original purpose of this secret room was. My hand now on the door handle, I anxiously turn the knob. For all I know, nothing could have changed and I can use this room once more, but I expect the worst with rats and mould and the paint peeling off. The door slopwly creaks open for me to step inside. To my surprise I am met by another short hallway to another door similar to the first, except with less moss down its hinges. And again, I enter through the door and it’s the same hallway with a cleaner door again. Another three times and I’m met by a door in pristine condition./ I have no recollection of creating secret rooms inside secret rooms, and my curiosity has been piqued. I inch open the perfect door to find a void of nothingness. The door locks behind me before I can think to turn back. I think long and hard now, I never put those doors into my house. I have a lot of time to float in the nothingness and think now.

A picture I saw on a creative prompts app – inspiration is everywhere you look for it! It’s a photo of a door left in an abandoned house.
