“Hey, I’m just calling up today to cancel my appointment under the name Francis Strom. When is your next available time for me to come in?”

I hear a sigh echo through from the other side of the phone. “Francis, you’ve cancelled your appointment with Dr Graham four times now. You can’t keep putting off your blood tests. We’ve made this as simple as possible so we can help you.”

“I’m feeling under the weather, so much so that it would be best if I don’t come in. The sun shone through my window and hurt my eyes. Blood tests will have to wait another day.”

“Francis, you are driving all of us crazy at the hospital. We need to urgently check your bloods so we can match you with a liver donor. Please come in so we get you a replacement. I know your excuses by now.”

“I’m not really motivated enough to do this today, can we please book it another day Sophie?”
